Visiting a pumpkin patch is one of the best fall activities! This year, I visited my favorite location, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in Los Angeles, CA.
Although they have implemented an entrance fee this year, I was pleased to learn that they amount you spend goes towards your purchase of a pumpkin! Entrances fees vary depending on if you go on a weekday, weekend, or evening; but in my case, I went on a weekday in the early afternoon, so my fee was only $5.
After paying the entrance fee, I was handed five “pumpkin bucks” which, again, I could use towards my purchase of a pumpkin. If you visit in a group, you can combine your pumpkin bucks as well. I thought it was a great way to support the patch and further motivate you to take home a pumpkin!
In addition to browsing through a plethora of pumpkins, there are also plenty of photo opportunities throughout the patch. The most popular being their signature pumpkin huts.
Mr. Bones also offers many other activities for families, but at an additional cost. You can purchase tickets and spend them on face painting, time in a bouncy house, a maze, petting zoo, and more. However, I will admit to you that I did not participate in any of those, as I was mainly there for the photos!
Lastly, you can also visit the gift shop and take home a spooky outfit, pumpkin carving kits, Halloween decor, etc., before you go.
I had a great time visiting Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch, and I hope you are able to experience it one day, too. Before I left, I noticed a small sign that stated that they were relocating for next year, but it did not state where.
I am optimistic about it being relocated somewhere nearby, but if it turns out that I will not be able to visit it again next year, I am grateful for the fun I had during my time there this fall.
